Please join us in our effort to make Pasadena more chicken-friendly.
Why chickens?
We want to change the city code regarding chickens, so more Pasadena residents will be able to enjoy the benefits of keeping a backyard flock.
Pasadena already allows residents to keep up to 10 hens, but not closer than 50 feet from any property line. The problem is, most lots in Pasadena neighborhoods are only 50 feet wide. This restriction makes the current code unreasonable and discriminatory. We want to get the restriction eased, so that hens (only hens, no noisy roosters) can be kept on the average-sized lots that make up many Pasadena neighborhoods.
